As usual, summer flies by without asking permission. I'm trying to grab on to each day, squeeze a few extra hours of sunlight through, but as of yet my efforts have been unsuccessful. The time I do get has been filled with weddings, travel, family, flowers, donuts, pups, and a bonfire here and there...rough life. I have been a bit down about life lately, but putting this post together reminded me how lucky I really am--thanks, blog world. xo!

this & that

just a little of this & that from lately. the third photo is from Easter weekend at my parents' home--my mom left the back door open and when she came into our living room, this tiny little bird had flown in and landed on a flower in the window. It perched there for almost half an hour, looking out at the world through the glass wall, before deciding to join it once again. Huckleberry Finn, the family pup, was quite confused by all of this, but we thought it was precious. life is so beautiful in color.

my life (job) has been quite busy lately so I am especially appreciating little quiet, simple times; stretching that enchanted time that is the morning as long as I can before heading to work and the real world. I'll say it over & over again: I'm yearning for spring!

holiday grams

This is what my holiday week has looked like: reading Harry Potter (for the first time) and falling in love like everyone said I would, merry-making with loved ones, baking all kinds of cookies with my mama and eating said cookies for breakfast every morning. Not to mention seeing old friends, celebrating my birthday, cuddling with my puppy, playing board games with my family & staying up 'til 2am watching Arrested Development with my brother. And accidentally sleeping until noon. Can this be forever?
