is it really June?

an amazing Father's Day meal of steak, shrimp, & grilled portabellas..grilled under the steady rain of late June. Apparently we're setting a record for how many days it takes to reach 75 degrees at this time of year. I hate setting records.

where's the sun?

The weather has been half summer, half fall lately so I haven't been able to dress in full summer wear like I'd hoped - so this outfit was kind of a compromise, but I liked it. It doesn't quite show up in the picture, but the tank top is a really beautiful light blue and its so soft! I mean, I don't think this ensemble is anything spectacular but it was comfy and I felt great in it. The tan purse is one of my favorite thrift store finds of late. Now if only the sun will stay out for more then 10 minutes at a time so I can live in sundresses like I want to!

school's out for summer!

sitting on my beautiful deck, sun's out, drinking an iced caramel latte (so happy to be reunited with my espresso machine), watching my puppy run around in my backyard, ready to put my new sundress on for a few graduation parties. life is so much better in the summer!

a fancy weekend

in other news, I've had far too little sleep the last two nights, and finals + packing is getting a little daunting. Cannot wait to be free as a bird starting Wednesday at 12:30.

birds of a feather

this nest is in one of the window boxes of my living room, and the inside of it is lined with Huckleberry Finn's (my big fluffy puppy) hair. My mom said she saw the mama bird fly back and forth with the pieces in her beak. Does that seem gross? I love the idea. Nature is so great!
