A few days ago, it wasn't too sunny but Raleigh and I were itching to get outside. So we packed a picnic lunch and went to Whatcom Falls to traipse around for a bit. The trails around the falls are beautiful and wild, and I saw my first owl in it's natural habitat! It flew right over our heads, huge and almost camoflauged against the tree trunks. I just love the Pacific Northwest. Can't wait to go on more summer adventures here this summer--bring 'em on!

Noah Gundersen + Portugal.the man

A few pictures from the Noah Gundersen and the Courage / portugal.the man show last week, on campus. Both bands sounded amazing - such a great show for only $10! I am lucky, as a college student, to have access to events like this on a regular basis, and it doesn't hurt that Bellingham is a great city to be in for music. My boyfriend and I went and we were both in awe of Portugal.the man, they are incredible live. At many points in the songs they had 4 members of the band singing together, including one female: it was hauntinglybeautiful. They also had a really cool lights show to go along with the music - unfortunately, I lack the photo skills necessary to catch the lights without catching the smoke, but I did take a few that are alright:

What happens in Whister
I went with a group of 11 fun, adventurous, hilarious people to Whister, Canada this weekend for College Weekend 2011. It was my first time to Canada and so so much fun. We laughed, drank (legally! I actually felt like an adult), danced (so much dancing), ate, played, piled into 2 beautiful hotel rooms and altogether had a fabulous time. Besides listening to communication between the numerous frat bros & sorority...girls (a mind-numbing experience), it was interesting to hear so many different accents all around us, mostly Australian and French. My American accent felt clumsy and dull! But regardless, much fun was had by all. Next stop, Vancouver!

NOTE: I wish I would have taken pictures of some of the outfits we saw out in the bars/clubs. Girlfriends were leaving n-o-t-h-i-n-g to the imagination!
