style and talent

I had my first experience taking band photos last week for my good friend's indie/folk band Roosevelt. I've never done group photos before so I was a bit nervous, but considering they are all my friends and they were paying me in peppermint mochas, there wasn't too much pressure. We bopped around downtown in the freezing cold & it ended up being really fun! I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. How stylish are all of them? so spiffy. and nice, and talented. Find their Facebook here if you'd like to listen!

If you've taken band/family photos before, do you have any tips on making them original/not cheesy?

They look pretty awesome to me :) My suggestion would be maybe to invest in a lens with a larger aperture opening, would of loved to see that crazy focused shot in there! Other than that they look pretty swell :)

You did a great job with these, Char. :) You should check out Ben Blood and Michael Porter, both amazing photographers. You may have heard of them, they both photograph Noah Gundersen a lot I believe.

I love these - very unique! The third picture is beautiful. This kinda reminds me of Paramore a little bit.

Her eye makeup is gorgeous!!!

I loooove these photos! Looks like a fun shoot. The only band photos I've taken are of my husbands band playing shows, so I don't have any tips, but I really like how yours turned out. :)
